When their heads start spawning tentacles is when I started to get a bit fed up with them. Even if the game began suffering from an overflow of enemy-wave missions towards the end, I did generally enjoy fighting these bastards. The far more tactical taking down of them did add a lot to the gameplay experience. The Las Plagas zombies in RE4 were a great breath of fresh air in the series. I feel there are way more scarier enemies even in RE4 which I find infinitely more scary.Īnd as some might have gathered from its positioning in my bottom-5, I also don’t find the Nemesis so much scary as annoying.īut, on with the list… 5. They’re a bit gross, especially with their spastic movements and they’re annoying for coming after you even if you blow off their legs – but frankly, if you’re well equipped by the time you come to them they’re not much of an issue. For instance, people talk a big game about the Regenerators from Resident Evil 4 (pictured right), but I never really found them especially scary. I want to also make a note here that I make a distinction between enemies which I find personally scary and which are either annoying or gross. But make no mistake, there are some Resident Evil enemies which are truly terrifying. However, in Resident Evil some of the creatures are so ridiculous that I don’t find them so much scary as a little silly.

I love the RE series (both the games and the movies) as demonstrated by a few lists in the past. I’ve been replaying a bit of Resident Evil Zero lately and though Halloween was a while ago, I decided I did want to list what were, in my view, the scariest Resident Evil enemies.
